Contour Cutting Services

Our foam contour cutting ability at Williams Foam allows us to cut intricate custom shapes without the cost of dedicated tooling. We have both vertical and horizontal CNC contour cutting machines for cutting profiles on either the X or Y axis. Cutting blades are controlled by precision software that uses customers’ prints to efficiently fabricate custom packaging, inserts, and handling trays.

Polyurethane is available in convoluted foam. Polyether foam is economical, moisture resistant, and has very desirable compressibility properties. Polyester foam is an excellent barrier to gases and special formulations can be used for anti-static applications. Polystyrene, often referred to as Styrofoam, EPS or Beadboard, is a very versatile and economical material available in densities from 0.7 lbs. to 3 lbs. Polyethylene foam has excellent load bearing characteristics and is ideal for providing maximum shock absorption at minimal thicknesses.

Materials up to 50" thick can be cut to tolerances of 0.125". Sizes are only limited to raw material availability. Custom profiles can also be cut from convoluted foam for special packaging or sound absorption applications.
